The Opera and Philharmonic Society of Bourgas is a state institute under the management of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. The society disposes a big orchestra of 92 people, a choral cast of 50 members, a ballet of 25 people, 19 soloist opera singers, administrative and technical offices. ■ "Une nuit á Paris" - a ballet after works of Gustav Maler, Sergey Rachmaninov and French chansons

   The opera part of the society has been existing as a state-owned since 1955 and has performed over than 100 opera titles.

   The symphony orchestra has been existing as a state-owned institution since 1947 and its repertoire has been including music by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Maler, R. Strauss, Bartok and Stravinski throughout the years.

   Bulgarian singers of world popularity have been on a visit to the Bourgas stage: Rayna Kabaivanska, Anna Tomova Sintova, Valeri Popova, Aleksandrina Milcheva, Gena Dimitrova, Nikola Gyuzelev, Kaludi Kaludov, Stoyan Popov, Nikola Nikolov and many others.

   The presence of musicians of world class appears in the symphonic concerts such as David Briskin, Ruggiero Ricci, Igor Eustrach, Frederick Gevero, Yoho Sato, Rudolf Kerer, Lyudmil Angelov, Vesko Eskenazi, and the world famous conductors as Kiril Kondrashin, Antonello Gotto, Gaetano Coglani, Sir David Lloyd Johnes, Ruslan Raychev, Emil Tabakov e.t.c have been appeared at the conductor's desk.

   The society realizes regular concert and opera tours all over Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Germany) and United States.
